Planning to Sophia Bulgaria:
This Balkan nation has Greek, Slavic, Ottoman, and Persian influences. Bulgaria is one of the poorest countries in Europe. Sophia is the capital of Bulgaria. The currency of Bulgaria is Lev. I left for Sophia from Belgrade, Serbia. I visited Sophia in September 2023.
Reaching Sophia Bulgaria:
I bought a ticket at Belgarde Central Bus station to leave for Sofia, Capital of Bulgaria. The ticket was 4620 Serbian Dinar or 42.47$. Serbia is 1 hr ahead of Bulgaria, so taking this into account, it takes 6.5 hrs on the bus to reach Sophia. It took 2+ hrs to get through the immigration at Serbian and Bulgarian borders.
Accommodation in Sophia Bulgaria:
I stayed at Guest House 32 by booking for accommodation on Hotels.com . I paid 34.33$ for my stay in Sophia. Though I planned to stay at a different hotel, I had to change my plans because of early closure of front desk check-in at another place.
Boots on the Ground:
I joined Free walking tours of Sophia at Supreme Court House, to get to know the history of Sophia. They are offered at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 2:00pm and 6:00pm every day.
